Our Employee Testimonials
Lunga Hoho
Desktop Support Technician, Johannesburg
"After landing a 12-month contract at Vox, I worked hard and learned all the processes in the organisation. Within a space of four months, I went up the ranks and became an MIT-Driver. After putting in the extra work, studying and upskilling myself, I got promoted to Service Engineer. I now get to solve problems and help others find solutions. Iβve found a job thatβs bigger than me, it gives meaning to my life."
Shirley Cross
Programme Manager, Johannesburg
"Itβs been such a privilege and an incredible experience being able to watch the company grow from a 12-man operation to this amazing monster we now call Vox. I learnt so much along the way, met many wonderful people, many of whom made some sort of impact on my life and career. Vox has been such a huge part of my life that I honestly feel itβs more of a family to me than just a workplace. I couldnβt imagine myself any where else!"
Richard von Schumann
IT Services Manager
What's Richard's secret to success? Simple: hard work and dedication. At Vox, he discovered that effort never goes unnoticed. He's not just a team member; he's a valued part of the Vox family, constantly proving that the IT Department is the backbone of success. πͺ
Β
Richard beams with pride when talking about Vox. Why?
Β
Because Vox doesn't just follow trends β they set them! π
Β
But in May 2021, life threw Richard a curveball. Amid lockdown, he faced a stage 3 melanoma diagnosis. π©Ί What he thought was a routine GP visit turned into a life-altering journey. But Richard? He's a fighter! He swiftly underwent surgery, got back on his feet, and carried on.
Β
Then came the unthinkable: June 2022 brought news of stage 4 melanoma. π° It had spread beneath the skin, and the battle intensified. Major surgeries, ICU stays, and a year of immunotherapy followed, but Richard emerged cancer-free. πͺ
Β
Not only did he conquer cancer, but he ran the Two Oceans half marathon in 2022 and 2023, just months after surgery! πββοΈ His determination knows no bounds.
Through it all, Vox stood by Richard's side with unwavering support. π€ He's grateful for the incredible company he works for and vows to keep pushing the boundaries to take Vox even higher. π
Jan Viljoen
Installations Engineer: FTTH
Jan joined Vox in March 2016, and it wasn't all smooth sailing at first. π
As an introvert in a fast-paced environment, he considered quitting after just two weeks.
But here's where the magic happened: Jan hung in there, and after a month, things started clicking. πͺ
Not only did he break records for receiving compliments (250 in a month!), but he also bagged "Engineer of the Year" within his first year.
Jan's journey took him to various roles within Vox, where he continued to shine and break his own records. With over 5,000 compliments and multiple "Engineer of the Year" titles, he was a force to be reckoned with.
But Jan's story doesn't stop there! He made the move to Cape Town as an FTTH Installation Engineer, and what did he do? He smashed records left and right, with 28 installs in one day and a whopping R140,000 sale for a single client!
Last year, Jan clinched the title for the highest sales, raking in over half a million with his upselling prowess. π
Jan's story is a testament to perseverance and the power of never giving up when the going gets tough. π When you've got determination and faith on your side, there's nothing you can't achieve. So, if you're facing a challenge today, remember Jan's story and hang in there β you might just surprise yourself with what you can accomplish!
Peter Motaung
Team Leader: FulfilmentΒ
Peter's Vox adventure kicked off back in 2008, where he took on the role of a call center agent with a heart full of determination and a hunger for industry knowledge.
π But Peter's path was far from ordinary; it was a journey painted with grit, resilience, and immense personal growth.
Over the past 15 years, Peter's Vox journey has been nothing short of remarkable.
He's donned multiple hats, from the MNOC Team to the Fishbone Team, dabbled in Business messaging and collaboration, and mastered the art of Business advanced Team Firewall - talk about versatility! π
But Peter's ascent up the Vox ladder was no walk in the park. Get thisβ¦he used to walk to work for his midnight shifts and encountered some horrific events facing off against would-be thieves just to make it to office. πͺ Nothing could deter his determination.
Fast forward to today, Peter stands tall as the Telco Fulfilment Team Leader in the PMO Management Office, JHB, and he's not just one-car rich, but two! π π His journey embodies Vox's growth and evolution, having witnessed the company expand its staff count, engage in strategic acquisitions, and stay firmly rooted in its core values.
For those looking to follow in his footsteps, Peter offers sage advice: Be eager to learn, resilient, and passionate about leadership. Vox offers a vast playground of products and divisions to explore. π
Here's a fun twist: Behind his confident exterior, Peter is a shy and emotional guy, and he holds the prestigious title of the first-ever winner of the Voscars!!!!!!!!! A very well-deserved recognition of his extraordinary journey.
Peter's story is a living testament to Vox's commitment to growth and development, and we're thrilled to celebrate it with all of you.

Ziyanda Mdemka
Sales Administrator
Let's take a moment to celebrate Ziyanda's incredible journey at Vox. She's gone from intern to permanent team member through pure dedication and hard work. π
π Ziyanda's secret sauce? She's always early, super eager to learn, and gives π―% in everything she does.
π Fun fact: She has a trusty black book where she's jotted down her wisdom, and it's still her go-to guide. π
π The coolest thing she's learned? Teamwork is the name of the game, and keeping that positive vibe makes all the difference. Need help? Ziyanda's your go-to gal with a smile!
π Her work style evolved big time, from intern to admin. She's all about the details now, and she's got Tumi and Avisha to thank for it. Tumi's advice? It's okay to try and fail before asking for help β that's where the real growth happens. π±
π Ziyanda's favorite moment? Team building, hands down! It's where she discovered the power of positivity and learned a ton about herself. π
π Her advice for new interns? Be YOU, don't compare yourself to others, keep that positive mojo going, and build those awesome work relationships. π―ββοΈ
π€« Something you might not know? Ziyanda's secretly a fantastic advisor, especially on matters of the heart, despite being single herself. πβ€οΈLet's give it up for Ziyanda and her awesome journey! ππ
Jennifer Tsingos
TMS Systems Administration
Over the years, Jennifer's seen her name change from Smit to Tsingos, her hair go from brunette to blonde, and her journey at Vox evolve from A to Z! π
Jennifer's been part of the Vox furniture since December 2007, starting in the TMS department.
She's had her fair share of managers, but she found THE Best in Natalie VD Merwe β€οΈ, who's been her mentor, leader, advisor, and listener extraordinaire. π
Her Vox journey has been a rollercoaster ride, from TMS training to jet-setting to support clients near and far, and then mastering the art of handling irate clients like a pro. Now, she's rocking it with over 400 clients, all thanks to her buddy Richard Visser and the support of the amazing VTSC Team. π
Jennifer's not just about TMS, though. She pioneered Health & Safety and saw it flourish within the Vox family, and she's known for getting things done NOW when she means business! π
Jennifer loves the ever-evolving Vox family and thrives on challenges. She's a true Vox warrior, and she's here to stay, giving her best to Vox until death does them part! πͺ
So, let's give a big shoutout to Jennifer for being a rockstar in our Vox family and making the best of every moment!
