Frequently Asked Questions

Guest Wi-Fi

To benefit from giving your customers Wi-Fi access, and engage with them after they have left your venue, for example via direct marketing campaigns, or following up on your customers’ experience to create customer loyalty.

The captive portal is the landing page your guests see when they log into your guest Wi-Fi network.

Yes, the captive portal can be branded to promote your business and is fully customisable. We can build a landing page for you based on a list of basic elements.

Yes, email and SMS campaigns, questionnaires and loyalty programmes can all be built on consultation.

Ensuring specific marketing campaigns reach targeted audiences who might be more interested in what you are advertising will improve the effectiveness of your marketing campaigns, and help reduce irrelevant marketing efforts that end up being ignored, or, even worse, being perceived as worthless spam.

There are multiple ways of potentially earning revenue from your guest Wi-Fi. One of these is by selling advertising space on your captive portal to nearby relevant businesses, allowing them to advertise to your guests. Used effectively, your Guest Wi-Fi solution has the potential to pay for itself.

SME Wi-Fi

To benefit from giving your customers Wi-Fi access and engage with them after they have left your venue, for example direct marketing campaigns, or following up on customer experience.

Yes, we’ll help build a landing page for you based on a list of basic elements supplied.

Yes, you’ll be able to run email and SMS campaigns, send out questionnaires and create loyalty programmes – these can all be built on consultation.

A managed Wi-Fi solution allows our Service Centre to remotely troubleshoot and improve network performance using cloud-based monitoring and administrative tools. This ensures that more connected devices can enjoy uninterrupted Wi-Fi in your business.

As an SME, you’ll typically need about one to five access points. But all of our Wi-Fi equipment is strong enough to cover an estimated 100 square metres, depending on what material your walls are made of. We recommend adding an additional device for every 50 to 100 square metres extra.

After your initial contract period has expired, we’ll negotiate a new contract to replace your outdated equipment. This might increase your monthly rental amount but there would be no large CapEx outlay.

Enterprise Wi-Fi

A managed Wi-Fi solution allows our Service Centre to remotely troubleshoot and improve network performance using cloud-based monitoring and administrative tools. This ensures that more connected devices can enjoy uninterrupted Wi-Fi in your business.

Dual-Chain (2×2 MIMO) Wi-Fi equipment allows for a large number of connected devices – at least 20 or more. Vox offerings can easily accommodate 50 to 100 connected devices.

Signal strength refers to the Wi-Fi signal strength indicator on your mobile device. Data throughput refers to the speed at which data is transferred within the Wi-Fi network, typically rated at Mbps (Megabits per second). So, depending on which Wi-Fi router or access points you have, data throughput can range from 2Mbps right up to 1Gbps.

All Wi-Fi equipment supplied by Vox is strong enough to cover an estimated 100 square metres, depending on what material your walls are made of. Vox recommends adding an additional device for every 50 to 100 square metres extra.

It’s always recommended that you run cable where possible to ensure maximum data throughput. But access points are preferred to consumer mesh products.

A detailed floor plan of your company will allow us to compile a comprehensive proposal for your Enterprise Wi-Fi solution.
